Can dogs eat apples?

can dogs eat applesAt left is one of my specially-formulated recipes. It includes tuna, white rice, yellow squash, green apples and more.

Dogs can eat apples, and in fact apples help with certain digestive issues such as acid reflux.

If you decide to feed apples to your dog, you can simply chop them up and add them to your dog’s food. It is very important to remove the seeds, core and stem before serving apples to your dog. If possible, organic is best, as apples are known for their high pesticide residue levels. If organic is not available, wash the apples as you would with any other produce.

As with all new ingredients, it is important that you introduce them slowly and carefully. It took time for me to get my dog’s body to a point where she could easily tolerate most “people food” like apples. It is easy now, but we had to go through a transition period first.

Many times, pet parents will feed their dogs “people food”  thinking they are doing their dogs a favor. In the long run, they absolutely are — however all new food must be introduced slowly over time.

I specialize in this transition, guiding you through the process in a slow and scientific manner. Let me help you help your furkid through this transition!
